What distinguishes the Maharishi Ayurveda Center Lago d'Orta?

It is the only Maharishi Ayurveda Center in Italy. The facility is managed by specialized physicians and therapists and offers an authentic experience based on years of expertise and thousands of guests welcomed.

Are there other Maharishi Ayurveda centers in Italy?

No. In Italy, this is the only center. Maharishi centers are also few in Europe and India.

What quality guarantees does the center offer?

Maharishi Ayurveda is a quality brand recognized by the All India Ayurvedic Congress and the Indian Ministry of Health (AYUSH). The center is a member of the Italian Maharishi Ayurveda Association and certified by the Maharishi College of Perfect Health International.

What is Maharishi Ayurveda?

It is a holistic health science originating from India, with over 5,000 years of tradition, aimed at maintaining balance between body, mind, and nervous system.

What is the goal of Ayurveda?

To stimulate the body’s self-healing capacities, prevent disorders, and improve psychophysical balance.

Who is it suitable for?

For those who wish to regenerate, prevent disorders, or address chronic issues, stress, or imbalances related to lifestyle.

What are doshas?

Vata, Pitta, and Kapha are the bioenergetic principles that regulate bodily functions. Each person has an individual combination.

How is my dosha determined?

Through pulse diagnosis and medical consultation.

Treatments

What is Panchakarma?

A deep purification and regeneration program that eliminates toxins, improves metabolism, and reduces stress.

How long does it last?

From 3 to 21 days:

  • 3–5 days: introduction
  • 7–10 days: complete detoxification
  • 14–21 days: deep and lasting treatment
Is pre-treatment required?

Yes. A light vegetarian diet is recommended before arrival. A detailed program is sent after booking.

When is it not recommended?

In case of pregnancy, severe debilitation, or during oncological therapies. In these cases, medical evaluation is necessary.

Does Panchakarma promote weight loss?

It may lead to slight weight loss thanks to balanced nutrition and improved digestion.

How long do daily treatments last?

Generally between 90 and 180 minutes, according to medical prescription.

What disorders can be treated?

Digestive problems, hormonal imbalances, stress, sleep disorders, dermatological issues, and lifestyle-related disorders.

Can Ayurveda help with migraines?

Yes, through detoxification, specific treatments, targeted nutrition, and stress management techniques.

What does Ayurveda say about the intestine?

Health depends on Agni (digestive fire). Treatments aim to improve digestion, elimination, and absorption.

Back pain and joint pain?

Often related to a Vata imbalance. Warm oils, targeted treatments, nutrition, and rebalancing practices are used.

Yes, each program is defined after the initial diagnosis.

Booking

How to book?

By completing the booking form or quote request on the website or by contacting the center directly.

Is a deposit required?

Yes, 10% of the total as a deposit. The balance is paid at check-out.

What payment methods are accepted?

Credit cards, bank transfer, and cash.

What is the cancellation policy?

Up to 30 days before: no penalty.
After that: deposit is withheld.

Are treatments reimbursable by the health system?

No, but some private insurance policies may provide coverage.

Stays

What are the rooms like?

Simple and comfortable, designed to promote rest and tranquility. There is no television.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes, in the rooms and common areas.

Are single rooms available?

Yes, single room with balcony.
Double room for single use and double room for single use with balcony are also available.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, if they do not disturb and can remain in the room during treatments.

Are children allowed?

Yes, provided they are accompanied and respect the atmosphere of quiet.

Is it possible to arrive without a car?

Yes, by train or plane. A transfer can be arranged for a fee.

Reduce alcohol, coffee, and animal products 7–10 days before arrival.

Nutrition

What type of cuisine is offered?

Ayurvedic vegetarian cuisine, with vegan option available.

Are organic products used?

Yes, predominantly organic and local.

Is it possible to report intolerances?

Yes, the menu can be adapted.

What is eaten during the treatment?

Light and digestible dishes: cooked grains, soups, vegetables, herbal teas. No alcohol, coffee, or raw foods.

Yoga and Activities

What activities are offered?

Daily yoga, meditation, and lectures on Ayurvedic topics.

Is yoga suitable for beginners?

Yes, for all levels.

How many sessions per day?

One group session and individual activities according to the program.

What should I bring?

Only personal clothing; everything else is provided by us (towels, bathrobe, slippers, bathroom set, yoga mat, etc.).

Can excursions be done during Panchakarma?

Only light walks are recommended. Strenuous activities are not advised.

Can excursions be done during the wellness stay?

Excursions, lake visits, and outdoor activities are possible.

What to visit in the surrounding area?

Lake Orta, Lake Maggiore, Isola di San Giulio, Sacro Monte, and other natural and cultural sites.
