The essence of Ayurveda

“Nature’s intelligence is connected to the body’s intelligence, with its basis in consciousness.”

The Essence
of Ayurveda

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, a great Indian sage and student of Guru Dev Brahmananda Saraswati, brought Transcendental Meditation to the West and helped make Ayurveda, the ancient science of life, accessible and relevant today. In collaboration with expert Ayurvedic physicians, Maharishi recovered millennial knowledge based on eternal natural laws, transforming it into a practical and contemporary path for individual well-being.

According to Maharishi Ayurveda, the human being is an inseparable unity of body, mind, and spirit, in constant relationship with nature and the universe. Health does not simply consist of the absence of disease, but in a dynamic state of balance, which can be preserved through a conscious lifestyle. As the Charaka Samhita states: “The individual is the mirror of the universe.”

Disease arises when natural defenses weaken and the body loses its ability to self-regulate. The main cause is the mistake of the intellect (Pragyaparad): incorrect habits, irregular rhythms, prolonged stress, and physical or emotional excesses generate imbalances in the three Doshas. No chronic disease appears suddenly: it is the result of small imbalances that gradually accumulate over time.

Harmony of body and mind:
the holistic system of Maharishi Ayurveda

Maharishi Ayurveda encompasses various approaches to achieving complete health, including:

  • Personalized nutrition;
  • A daily routine;
  • Specific Ayurvedic products (Dravyaguna);
  • Purifying and regenerating treatments (Panchakarma);
  • Music (Gandharva Veda, Vedic Sounds);
  • Aromatic oils;
  • Breathing and physical exercises for coordination between body and soul (Yoga Asanas and Pranayama);
  • Simple techniques such as Transcendental Meditation to reduce stress and tension and develop full mental potential;
  • Chromotherapy and Vedic architecture (Sthapatya Veda).

In this context, Panchakarma represents the primary tool of Maharishi Ayurveda for prevention, purification, and regeneration. Through a gradual and personalized journey, it eliminates excess Doshas, strengthens digestion and metabolism, stimulates the immune system, and supports the body’s natural self-healing power. The benefits involve the whole person: increased energy and vitality, mental clarity, emotional balance, improved sleep, weight normalization, and the slowing of aging processes. Traditionally reserved for royal families, today Panchakarma is an accessible practice for those wishing to maintain health, harmony, and longevity while respecting the laws of nature. Each path is personalized and can also be performed as a preventive treatment, ideally at every change of season.

In our association, we propose a series of preparatory paths and complementary activities designed to integrate yoga and promote the global well-being of the person:
